Description
Indications
Used to relieve abdominal pain or cramps, and other stomach discomforts.
Administration
Take hyoscine butylbromideexactly as your doctor tells you to. It is usual to be prescribed one or two tablets to take three times a day, although your doctor may increase your dose to two tablets four times daily if needed.
Swallow the tablets with a drink of water. You can take hyoscine butylbromide before or after meals.
If you forget to take a dose, do not take two doses together to make up for the missed dose - just continue with the next dose when it is due.
Dosage
Adult: As hyoscine butylbromide: 20 mg 4 times daily.
Child: As hyoscine butylbromide: 6-11 years 10 mg tid; ≥12 years Same as adult dose.
Contraindications
Myasthenia gravis, narrow-angle glaucoma, tachycardia, megacolon; hypersensitivity.
Storage
Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
