Docusate Sodium Ear Drops is used for facilitating the removal of ear wax. By softening and breaking down hardened ear wax, it aids in clearing the ear canal and improving hearing. This treatment is beneficial for individuals experiencing discomfort or hearing impairment due to ear wax buildup.
Formulation
Docusate Sodium Ear Drops contains: Docusate Sodium 5 mg/mL (0.5%) in a water-soluble base.

Docusate Sodium Ear Drops common side effects include: ear pain, inflammation, irritation, discomfort, or a stinging sensation. These reactions are generally rare and may subside with continued use.
Dosage / Direction
Dosage for Adults (including the elderly): Fill the affected ear canal with the solution once at night for up to 2 consecutive nights.
Dosage for Children (from 1 year): Same as adult dose.
Age Limit: Not recommended for children under 1 year.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
As this medication is applied topically and not absorbed systemically, there is no information to suggest it should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications
Do not use if there is a perforated eardrum or ear inflammation. Discontinue use if pain or discomfort occurs.
