Indications
Amebiasis; Bacterial vaginosis; Intra-abdominal infection; Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); Skin and soft tissue infection.
Dosage and Administration
40 – 45 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 6 -8 hours daily for 5 – 7 days or as directed by the physician. May administer with food to minimize GI upset.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to metronidazole and other nitroimidazoles or any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further detail.
