Indications / Uses of AZCORE Azithromycin 500mg Tablet

Azithromycin belongs to the group of antibiotics known as Macrolides. It is effective against bacterial infections caused by various microorganisms. These infections include:
  • Chest infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
  • Infections in the sinuses, throat, tonsils, or ears
  • Mild to moderate skin and soft tissue infections, like folliculitis (infection of hair follicles), cellulitis (deeper skin infection), and erysipelas (skin infection with red swelling)
  • Infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria, which can lead to inflammation of the urethra or cervix
 

What are the side-effects of AZCORE Azithromycin 500mg Tablet?

Just like with all medications, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
This medication has a range of potential side effects, categorized by frequency:
Immediate Action Required:
  • Uncommon: Severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and symptoms of liver inflammation such as yellowing skin and eyes.
  • Rare: Jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), rapid skin eruption with small pustules.
  • Very Rare: Skin rash with fever and swollen glands, potentially life-threatening heart rhythm disturbances (QT prolongation/Torsades de pointes), irregular heartbeat, severe anemia, severe diarrhea with blood, pancreatitis, kidney inflammation or failure, liver failure symptoms, and seizures.
Serious, Requires Medical Attention:
  • Not Known: Allergic reactions with severe breathing difficulty, severe skin peeling or rash, disturbances in heart rhythm (QT prolongation), irregular heartbeat, severe anemia, severe diarrhea with blood, pancreatitis, kidney inflammation or failure, liver failure symptoms, and seizures.
Common Side Effects:
  • Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, flatulence.
  • Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, taste disturbance, numbness/tingling, visual disturbances, deafness, vomiting, indigestion, skin rash, itching, joint pain, fatigue, changes in blood tests.

  • Reduced sensation, liver function changes, photosensitivity, various infections, throat/stomach inflammation, breathing difficulties, allergies, loss of appetite, nervousness, insomnia, ear issues, vertigo, hearing impairment, palpitations, hot flashes, infections with fever, swelling, nosebleeds, constipation, gastritis, difficulty swallowing, bloating, dry mouth, belching, mouth ulcers, increased saliva, dermatitis, dry skin, increased sweating, bone/joint/muscle pain, urinary/kidney pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, testicle problems, general weakness, swelling, chest pain, fever, abnormal lab tests, breathing difficulties, and more.
Rare Side Effects:
  • Agitation, irritability.
Unknown Frequency:
  • Delayed clotting/bruising, aggression, anxiety, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, hyperactivity, loss/altered senses, muscle weakness, low blood pressure, tongue/tooth discoloration.
Prophylactic Treatment Side Effects (MAC):
  • Common gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence), loss of appetite, dizziness, headache, numbness, taste disturbance, visual disturbances, deafness, skin rash, joint pain, fatigue.
  • Less common: Reduced sensation, poor hearing, palpitations, photosensitivity, general weakness, feeling unwell
 

Dosage / Direction for Use of AZCORE Azithromycin 500mg Tablet

General Adult Dosing (including older patients) and Children/Adolescents over 45kg:
  • Recommended Dose: 1500mg divided over either 3 or 5 days.
  • 3-day regimen: 500mg once daily for 3 days.
  • 5-day regimen: 500mg as a single dose on day 1, then 250mg once daily on days 2 through 5.
Inflammation of Urethra or Cervix (Chlamydia infection):
  • Dose: 1000mg taken as a single dose, for one day only.
Sinus Infections (adults and adolescents 16 years and older):

Children and Adolescents under 45kg:

  • Pagbawas ng pakiramdam, pagbabago sa function ng atay, photosensitivity, iba't ibang mga impeksyon, pamamaga ng lalamunan/tiyan, kahirapan sa paghinga, allergies, pagkawala ng ganang kumain, nerbiyos, insomnia, mga isyu sa tenga, vertigo, pagkabingi, pagduruwang, impeksyon na may lagnat, pamamaga, nosebleeds, pagtatae, gastritis, kahirapan sa paglunok, pagka-bloating, tuyong bibig, pag-utot, mouth ulcers, pagdami ng laway, dermatitis, tuyong balat, pagdami ng pawis, sakit sa buto/kasukasuan/muscle, sakit sa bato/tiyan, di-pormal na pagdurugo sa vaginal, problema sa testicles, pangkalahatang kahinaan, pamamaga, sakit sa dibdib, lagnat, di-pormal na mga lab tests, kahirapan sa paghinga, at iba pa.
Bihirang mga Epekto:
  • Pagkabalisa, pagkamayamutin.
Hindi Kilalang Kadalasang Nangyayari:
  • Delayed clotting/bruising, aggression, anxiety, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, hyperactivity, pagkawala/pagbabago ng mga senses, panghihina ng muscles, mababang presyon ng dugo, pagkakulay ng dila/dilaw ng ngipin.

  • Mas bihirang: Pagbawas ng pakiramdam, pagkabingi, palpitations, photosensitivity, pangkalahatang kahinaan, di-mabuting pakiramdam.
 

Dosage / Direksyon sa Paggamit ng AZCORE Azithromycin 500mg Tablet

Karaniwang Dosis para sa mga nasa Hustong Gulang (kasama na ang mga matatanda) at mga Bata/Kabataan na higit sa 45kg:
  • Inirerekumendang Dosis: 1500mg hatiin sa tatlo o limang araw.
  • Regimen ng Tatlong araw: 500mg isang beses sa isang araw para sa tatlong araw.
  • Regimen ng Limang araw: 500mg bilang isang dose sa unang araw, pagkatapos ay 250mg isang beses sa isang araw mula sa pangalawang araw hanggang sa panglima.
Pamamaga ng Urethra o Cervix ( impeksyon ng Chlamydia):
  • Dosis: 1000mg isang beses na dose, sa loob ng isang araw lamang.
Impeksyon sa Sinus (mga nasa Hustong Gulang at Kabataan 16 taong gulang pataas):

Mga Pasyente na may Problema sa Bato o Atay:

Maaaring kinakailangan ang pag-a-adjust ng standard na dosage batay sa indibidwal na kalagayan ng kalusugan.
 

Kontraindikasyon

Huwag uminom ng Azithromycin:
