Description

Indications / Uses

SALONPAS Gel is used for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains in muscles and joints. This topical product is effective for discomfort associated with simple backache, muscle strains, bruises, sprains, and arthritis. The active components provide a cooling and warming sensation on the skin, which acts as a counterirritant to distract the body from the pain deeper in the affected area. It is intended for external application directly to the painful site.

Formulation / Ingredients

SALONPAS Gel contains: Methyl Salicylate 150mg per g + Menthol 70mg per g

Do I need prescription to buy SALONPAS Gel?

No prescription required to purchase SALONPAS Gel. You can order it right now on our website.

Side Effects

SALONPAS Gel common side effects include: mild irritation, redness, or a stinging/burning sensation at the application site. These topical skin reactions are usually temporary and diminish over time. If the applied area is tightly bandaged or exposed to heat, the risk of skin irritation or burning increases. Serious, though rare, side effects that require immediate attention include severe skin blistering, swelling at the application site, or symptoms of an allergic reaction such as a rash or trouble breathing.

Directions and Dosage

  • Dosage for Adults and Kids 2 years old and older: Apply to the affected area no more than 3 to 4 times daily.

Not recommended for children under 2 years of age. For external use only. Maximum treatment duration: Symptoms should not persist for more than 7 days; discontinue use if symptoms worsen or last longer than 7 days.

Contraindications

This topical preparation should not be applied to wounds, damaged, or irritated skin. Individuals who have a known sensitivity to the components or to aspirin and other similar non-steroidal anti-inflammatory substances should not use it. Do not use this product in conjunction with a heating pad or tight bandaging.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use is not recommended from 20 weeks of the term until delivery, as the substance may cause issues in the unborn. It is especially important not to use it during the last 3 months. Since components may pass into the milk, caution should be exercised while using it during this period.

Special Precautions

  • Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, or sensitive areas. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • The topical substance should not be used immediately before, during, or after activities that raise skin temperature, such as heavy exercise or bathing in hot water, as this can increase the risk of skin irritation.
  • Use with caution on older individuals as they may be at a higher risk for adverse effects, particularly if applied over a large area.
  • Products containing the components should not be used on children with flu-like symptoms, chickenpox, or any undiagnosed illness due to a potential rare, serious risk.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Applying this product over large areas or for an extended time may increase the chance of interaction. The substance may interact with blood-thinning oral medications, which could increase the risk of bleeding. The risk of stomach problems may also increase if used alongside other oral products containing similar anti-inflammatory agents.

How should I store it?

Store the product at normal room temperature, not exceeding 30°C. Keep it away from children to prevent accidental swallowing or poisoning.
