Symptomatic treatment of menopausal complaints: Vasomotor symptoms such as hot flushes, sweating.
Psychovegetative symptoms such as sleep disorders, nervousness and depressive moods.
Neurovegetative complaints prior to menstrual bleeding (premenstrual) and in case of painful menstrual bleeding (dysmenorrhea).

Dosage/Direction for Use
Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1 tablet unchewed twice a day, one in the morning and one in the evening, with some liquid. Do not suck the tablet.
Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)] does not reveal its action immediately. Initial therapeutic effects can be seen after six to eight weeks of treatment. As the results of treatment even improve further on prolonged administration, Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)] should be given over a longer period but not longer than 6 months without medical advice.
Missed Dose: Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet. If the patient has any further questions on the use of the medicinal product, ask a doctor or pharmacist.

Overdosage
In the event of overdose of Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)], the listed side effects may worsen.

Contraindications
Do not take Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)] if hypersensitive (allergic) to Cimicifuga rhizome (Black Cohosh rootstock) or any of the other ingredients of Remifemin. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Special Precautions
Patients with a history of liver disease should take Cimicifuga preparations with caution.
Stop taking this product if signs and symptoms suggestive of liver injury develop such as tiredness, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and eyes or severe upper stomach pain with nausea and vomiting or dark urine. Consult a doctor immediately.

Estrogen may only be taken concurrently under medical supervision because Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)] may intensify the effects of the estrogens. Consult a doctor. If the patient has been treated or if undergoing treatment for breast cancer or other hormone-dependent tumors, the patient should not use Cimicifuga preparations without medical advice.
If symptoms, which have led the patient to start the therapy with Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)], persist or worsen during the use of the medicinal product, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.
This medicine contains lactose. Therefore do not take Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)] until the patient has consulted a doctor if he/she knows that he/she suffers from a sugar intolerance. Patients using herbal medicinal products should tell their doctor about it.

Adverse Reactions
Rarely, allergic skin reactions (urticaria, itching skin, skin rash), facial edema and peripheral edema, gastrointestinal disorders (dyspepsia, diarrhea) and weight gain can occur after the use of Remifemin [Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh root & rhizome)].
Cases of liver toxicity (including hepatitis, jaundice, disturbances in the liver function tests) have been reported with the use of Cimicifuga containing products. The frequency is not known.
In such cases, the patient should discontinue the product and contact a doctor.
