Indications / Uses

KHRIZCOPAN Hyoscine N-Butylbromide 10mg is used for the symptomatic relief of abdominal pain, cramps, and discomfort associated with spasms in the gastrointestinal, biliary, and urinary tracts. It is also employed to help relieve symptoms linked to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This medicine works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the walls of the stomach, intestines, and bile duct, as well as the urinary and reproductive organs.

Side Effects

KHRIZCOPAN Hyoscine N-Butylbromide 10mg common side effects include a dry mouth, blurred vision, and an increased heart rate. Other less common effects may involve difficulty passing urine, an itchy skin rash, or reduced sweating. Although rare, severe allergic reactions like swelling of the face and throat or difficulty breathing may occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults and Adolescents (over 12 years): 1 to 2 tablets, 3 to 5 times a day. Do not exceed 100 mg (10 tablets) in 24 hours.
• Dosage for Kids 6–12 years: 1 tablet 3 times a day. Do not exceed 3 tablets in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 6 years. Maximum treatment duration: generally, should not be taken continuously for prolonged periods without assessment.

Contraindications

This medicine should not be used by individuals with certain underlying medical conditions. Avoid use if you have an allergy to the ingredients, myasthenia gravis, or a condition involving a blockage in the bowel or stomach. It is also not suitable for those with glaucoma, an enlarged colon (megacolon), or difficulty passing urine due to an enlarged prostate.

Special Precautions

• Take with caution if there is a history of heart conditions such as a very fast heartbeat.
• Use with care in the elderly, as they may be more susceptible to side effects like dry mouth or urinary retention.
• Observe caution in hot environments, as this medicine may affect the body’s ability to sweat.
• Be mindful of potential issues if you have severe thyroid problems or a risk of intestinal/urinary obstruction.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Interactions can occur, especially with other medicines that have anticholinergic properties, such as some antidepressants, antipsychotics, and certain antihistamines, which may increase side effects. Taking it with antacids or some anti-diarrhea medicines might reduce the absorption of this product, making it less effective.

How should I store it?

The tablets should be stored at temperatures not exceeding 30ºC. Keep the product protected from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.
