Indications / Uses

Algina Sachet is used for the treatment and symptomatic relief of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, and acid indigestion. It forms a protective barrier that helps prevent stomach acid from backing up into the esophagus. This medication is also used for the relief of discomfort associated with acid reflux and regurgitation.

Formulation / Ingredients
Algina Sachet contains: Sodium alginate 500mg + Sodium bicarbonate 213mg + Calcium carbonate 325mg per 10mL

Side Effects

Algina Sachet common side effects include: mild gastrointestinal effects such as bloating or flatulence. Some users may experience changes in bowel habits. These effects are typically mild and temporary, often resolving as the body adjusts to the medication.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and adolescents (12+ years): 1 sachet after meals and at bedtime. Do not exceed 4 sachets in 24 hours.
• Elderly (65+ years): 1 sachet after meals. Do not exceed 3 sachets in 24 hours.
• Children (6-11 years): ½ sachet after meals. Do not exceed 2 sachets in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 6 years without medical advice. Maximum treatment duration: 14 days unless otherwise directed. Contents should be mixed with water before consumption.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the alginate or antacid components. Severe renal impairment or hypercalcemia. Appendicitis symptoms or intestinal obstruction.

Special Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with impaired renal function
• Separate administration from other medications by at least 2 hours
• Discontinue use if symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May interact with several medications including antibiotics, thyroid hormones, and certain heart medications. Can reduce absorption of other drugs when taken simultaneously. Maintain at least 2-hour interval between this product and other medications.

How should I store it?

Store at room temperature below 30°C. Keep sachets in original packaging and protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
