Indications / Uses

Solmux Forte Syrup is used for treating respiratory conditions with thick or sticky mucus such as bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and sinusitis. It helps loosen phlegm from airways by reducing mucus viscosity and promoting expectoration. This mucolytic action facilitates easier breathing and accelerates recovery in acute and chronic bronchopulmonary disorders.

Side Effects

Solmux Forte Syrup common side effects include: Gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, vomiting, stomach pain), headache, and dizziness. Less frequently, skin reactions like rash or itching may occur. Serious effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding are rare but require immediate attention if experienced.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): 5mL (500mg) three times daily. Maximum daily dose: 1,500mg (15mL).
• Adolescents 12-17 years: 5mL (500mg) three times daily. Maximum daily dose: 1,500mg (15mL).
• Children 6-11 years: 2.5mL (250mg) three times daily. Maximum daily dose: 750mg (7.5mL).
• Children 2-5 years: 1.25mL (125mg) three times daily. Maximum daily dose: 375mg (3.75mL).

Not recommended for children under 2 years. Typical treatment duration: 8-10 days unless otherwise directed.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to carbocisteine or excipients. Active peptic ulcer disease. Severe kidney impairment.

Special Precautions

• Use cautiously with history of stomach disorders
• Monitor for gastrointestinal side effects
• Dosage adjustment needed in mild-to-moderate kidney disease

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May reduce effectiveness of tetracycline antibiotics if taken simultaneously. Avoid concurrent use with cough suppressants as they counteract mucus clearance. Separate doses by 2 hours when taking other oral medicines.

Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep bottle tightly closed. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of children's reach.
