Indications / Uses

ROBITUSSIN Syrup is used for relieving chest congestion by thinning and loosening mucus in the airways. It helps make coughs more productive in respiratory conditions like bronchitis, colds, and sinusitis. This expectorant facilitates easier breathing by clearing phlegm from the respiratory tract.

ROBITUSSIN Syrup contains: Guaifenesin 100mg per 5mL.

Side Effects

ROBITUSSIN Syrup common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, and headache. Less frequently, dizziness or skin rash may occur. These reactions are typically mild and resolve without intervention.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 10mL (200mg) every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 60mL (6 doses).
• Children 6-12 years: 5mL (100mg) every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 30mL (6 doses).
• Children 2-6 years: 2.5mL (50mg) every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 15mL (6 doses).

Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum treatment duration: 7 days unless symptom persists.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to components. Chronic cough with excessive phlegm production.

Special Precautions

• Maintain adequate fluid intake to help loosen mucus
• Discontinue if rash or hypersensitivity reactions occur

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Generally safe with most medications. Avoid concurrent use with cough suppressants. Always disclose current medications before administration.
