MUCOBRON Syrup is used for relieving chest congestion and facilitating mucus clearance in respiratory conditions. It helps thin and loosen bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive. This expectorant formulation manages symptoms associated with bronchitis, common colds, and other respiratory tract infections with excessive mucus production.

Side Effects

MUCOBRON Syrup common side effects include: gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, or stomach upset. Some users may experience mild dizziness or headache. Allergic reactions like skin rash are rare but require immediate discontinuation of the product.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults and adolescents (12+ years): 10mL (2 teaspoonfuls) every 4-6 hours. Maximum daily dose: 60mL
  • Children 6-12 years: 5mL (1 teaspoonful) every 4-6 hours. Maximum daily dose: 30mL
  • Children 2-5 years: 2.5mL (½ teaspoonful) every 4-6 hours. Maximum daily dose: 15mL

Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum treatment duration: 7 days unless otherwise directed.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any components. Avoid use in severe renal impairment or metabolic alkalosis. Not recommended for patients on sodium-restricted diets.

Special Precautions

  • Use cautiously in patients with gastric irritation or peptic ulcer
  • Maintain adequate hydration during treatment
  • Discontinue if severe gastrointestinal symptoms develop
  • Consult healthcare provider if cough persists beyond 7 days
