Flemux Carbocisteine 500mg is used for symptomatic treatment of respiratory disorders characterized by viscous mucus secretions. It acts as a mucolytic agent in conditions like chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary emphysema. This medication facilitates expectoration in productive cough by reducing sputum viscosity and promoting airway clearance.

Side Effects

Flemux Carbocisteine 500mg common side effects include: gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, epigastric pain, and diarrhea. Less frequently reported reactions are skin rashes, dizziness, and headache. Severe allergic reactions including angioedema may occur in rare cases. Discontinue use if persistent adverse effects develop.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (15+ years): 1 capsule (500mg) 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 1500mg.
• Children 5-14 years: 1 capsule (500mg) twice daily. Maximum daily dose: 1000mg.

Not recommended for children under 5 years. Treatment duration typically ranges from 8-10 days unless otherwise directed. Take after meals with water.

Contraindications
