Indications / Uses

Diacof Carbocisteine Drops is used for symptomatic treatment of respiratory conditions with viscous mucus. It facilitates expectoration in acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases like bronchitis, asthma, and sinusitis by reducing mucus viscosity.

Diacof Carbocisteine Drops contains: Carbocisteine 50mg per 1mL.

Side Effects

Diacof Carbocisteine Drops common side effects include: gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, diarrhea, or abdominal pain. Rare reactions may include headache, dizziness, or skin rashes. Discontinue use if severe allergic reactions occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults & Adolescents (15+ years): 15mL (750mg) daily in divided doses
• Children 5-12 years: 10mL (500mg) daily in divided doses
• Children 2-5 years: 5mL (250mg) daily in divided doses
• Infants 1-2 years: 2.5mL (125mg) twice daily

Maximum daily dose: 30mL (1500mg). Not recommended for infants below 1 year. Treatment duration should not exceed 10 days without medical advice.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to carbocisteine. Active peptic ulcer disease. Severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Avoid during first trimester. Use only under medical supervision in pregnancy/lactation.

Special Precautions

• Avoid in patients with history of gastric ulcers
• Use cautiously in asthmatic patients
• Monitor for gastrointestinal reactions

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May interact with antitussives and antibiotics. Avoid concurrent use with cough suppressants. Consult healthcare provider before combining with other mucolytics.

Store below 30°C in original container. Keep tightly closed and protected from light. Do not freeze.
