The active ingredient functions by enhancing the production of natural pulmonary surfactants, which alters the mucus structure to make it less viscous. This action helps improve the body's natural clearance mechanism, facilitating the removal of phlegm and providing relief from wet or productive coughs.

COUXIN Ambroxol 6mg Drops for Baby common side effects include mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain, as well as an occasional dry mouth or taste disturbance. These effects are usually mild and resolve without intervention. Rarely, more severe adverse skin reactions, including generalized rashes and swelling, have been reported; any appearance of new skin or mucosal lesions requires immediate discontinuation.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Infants 0 - 6 months old: 0.5 mL twice daily.
• Dosage for Infants 7 - 12 months old: 1 mL twice daily.
• Dosage for Kids 1 - 2 years old: 1.25 mL twice daily.

Treatment should not generally exceed 7 days if symptoms persist. Use in older children and adults is typically based on syrup or tablet formulations.

Contraindications

This formulation should not be used in individuals with a known sensitivity to the active compound or any of the inactive substances in the preparation. There may also be contraindications for those with rare hereditary conditions incompatible with certain components.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
