Indications / Uses

Ceascol Carbocisteine Drops is used for reducing mucus viscosity in respiratory conditions with excessive or thick secretions. It facilitates mucus clearance in acute and chronic bronchopulmonary disorders like bronchitis, asthma, and bronchiectasis. This formulation also helps manage sinusitis and middle ear effusions by promoting expectoration in pediatric patients.

Side Effects

Ceascol Carbocisteine Drops common side effects include: gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and epigastric pain. Less frequently, skin rashes or mild allergic reactions may occur. Discontinue use if severe abdominal pain or hypersensitivity develops.

Directions and Dosage

• Infants 1-6 months: 5-10 drops (approx 0.25-0.5mL or 12.5-25mg) twice daily. Maximum daily dose: 20 drops.
• Infants 6-12 months: 10-20 drops (approx 0.5-1mL or 25-50mg) twice daily. Maximum daily dose: 40 drops.
• Children 1-2 years: 20-30 drops (approx 1-1.5mL or 50-75mg) twice daily. Maximum daily dose: 60 drops.

Administer using provided dropper. Shake well before use. Maximum treatment duration: 8-10 days unless otherwise advised. Adjust dosage based on symptom severity.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to mucolytics. Active peptic ulcer disease. Severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Special Precautions
