ZETRINX Cetirizine Drops for Baby is used for relieving allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itching, and watery eyes in infants and young children. It helps manage seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria (hives), and skin reactions to allergens such as pollen or dust mites. This pediatric formulation provides precise dosing for effective symptom control in young patients.

ZETRINX Cetirizine Drops for Baby contains: Cetirizine Hydrochloride 2.5mg per mL.

Side Effects

ZETRINX Cetirizine Drops for Baby common side effects include: drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and mild gastrointestinal discomfort like nausea. Less frequently, agitation or fatigue may occur, particularly in sensitive infants. Discontinue use if severe reactions like breathing difficulties or skin rash develop.

Directions and Dosage

• Infants 6-12 months: 1mL (2.5mg) once daily. Maximum: 2.5mg in 24 hours.
• Children 1-2 years: 1mL (2.5mg) once or twice daily. Maximum: 5mg in 24 hours.
• Children 2-6 years: 1mL (2.5mg) once or twice daily or 2mL (5mg) once daily. Maximum: 5mg in 24 hours.

Not recommended for infants under 6 months. Duration depends on symptom control but may be used long-term for chronic allergies.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or similar antihistamines. Severe renal impairment with creatinine clearance <10 mL/min.

Special Precautions

• Monitor for increased drowsiness or agitation in infants under 2 years
• Use cautiously with pre-existing kidney conditions; dosage adjustment may be needed

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Minor interactions may occur with alcohol or sedatives, potentially increasing drowsiness. No significant pharmacokinetic interactions reported with common antibiotics.
