Virlix Cetirizine Drops is used for relieving allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itching eyes, and hives in adults and children. This oral drop formulation helps manage seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis while providing flexibility for pediatric dosing. It works by blocking histamine receptors to control reactions to allergens such as pollen, dust mites, or pet dander.

Side Effects

Virlix Cetirizine Drops common side effects include: drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and mild gastrointestinal discomfort like nausea. Less frequently, fatigue or agitation may occur, particularly in young children. Discontinue use if severe reactions like breathing difficulties or skin rash develop.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 1mL (10mg) once daily. Do not exceed 10mg in 24 hours.
• Children (2-6 years): 0.5mL (5mg) once daily or 0.25mL (2.5mg) twice daily. Maximum: 5mg daily.
• Infants (6 months-2 years): 0.25mL (2.5mg) once daily. Maximum: 2.5mg daily.

Not recommended for infants under 6 months. Duration depends on symptom control but may be used long-term for chronic allergies.

Contraindications

Severe kidney impairment (creatinine clearance <10mL/min) or known hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine. Avoid in patients with rare hereditary galactose intolerance.
