Indications / Uses

KHRIZMED Cetirizine Syrup for Kids is used for relieving symptoms of allergic rhinitis including sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes in pediatric patients. It effectively treats chronic urticaria and skin reactions caused by allergies by blocking histamine receptors. This medication also helps manage symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis and perennial allergies in children.

KHRIZMED Cetirizine Syrup for Kids contains: Cetirizine Dihydrochloride 5 mg per 5mL + excipients.

Side Effects

KHRIZMED Cetirizine Syrup for Kids common side effects include: drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and occasional stomach discomfort. Less frequently reported reactions include fatigue, mild agitation, or skin rashes. Discontinue use immediately if severe reactions like breathing difficulties or swelling of lips/face occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Infants 6-12 months: 2.5 mL (2.5mg) once daily
• Children 1-2 years: 2.5 mL (2.5mg) once or twice daily
• Children 2-6 years: 5 mL (5mg) once daily or 2.5 mL twice daily

Maximum daily dose: 5mg (5mL) for children under 6 years. Not recommended for infants below 6 months. Use only as directed.

Contraindications

Do not use in patients with severe kidney impairment or known hypersensitivity to cetirizine. Avoid if previous allergic reactions to antihistamines have occurred.

Special Precautions

• Avoid alcohol or sedatives to prevent increased drowsiness
• Use caution in patients with epilepsy or seizure disorders
• Monitor for behavioral changes in young children

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May interact with CNS depressants increasing drowsiness. Avoid concurrent use with other antihistamines unless directed.
