Indications / Uses

HISTACET Cetirizine 10mg is used for relieving symptoms of allergic rhinitis including sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. It effectively treats chronic urticaria and other skin allergies by blocking histamine receptors. This medication also helps manage symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis and perennial allergies.

HISTACET Cetirizine 10mg contains: Cetirizine Dihydrochloride 10mg + excipients.

Side Effects

HISTACET Cetirizine 10mg common side effects include: drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and fatigue. Less frequently reported reactions include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, or mild skin rashes. Discontinue use immediately if severe reactions like breathing difficulties occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults & Adolescents (12+ years): 1 tablet (10mg) once daily
• Children 6-11 years: ½ tablet (5mg) once daily

Maximum daily dose: 10mg. Not recommended for children under 6 years. May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Do not use with severe renal impairment or known hypersensitivity to cetirizine. Avoid if previous reactions to hydroxyzine or similar antihistamines occurred.

Special Precautions

• Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants
• Use caution when driving or operating machinery
• Monitor for dizziness in elderly patients

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May interact with sedatives or alcohol, increasing drowsiness. Avoid concurrent use with other antihistamines unless directed.
