Indications / Uses

Dialix Cetirizine Drops is used for relieving symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and itchy, watery eyes. It also treats skin allergy symptoms like itch and rash associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria and allergic conjunctivitis.

Dialix Cetirizine Drops contains: Cetirizine dihydrochloride 1mg/mL.

Side Effects

Dialix Cetirizine Drops common side effects include drowsiness, headache, fatigue, dry mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Less frequently, it may cause paradoxical CNS stimulation (agitation, insomnia), rash, or hypersensitivity reactions like angioedema.

Directions and Dosage

• Infants 6–12 months: 2.5mg (1mL) once daily. Maximum: 2.5mg/day.
• Children 1–2 years: 2.5mg (1mL) once or twice daily. Maximum: 5mg/day.
• Children 2–5 years: 5mg (2mL) once daily or 2.5mg (1mL) twice daily. Maximum: 5mg/day.
• Children 6–12 years: 10mg (4mL) once daily or 5mg (2mL) twice daily. Maximum: 10mg/day.
• Adults & adolescents 12+ years: 10mg (4mL) once daily. Maximum: 10mg/day.

Not recommended for infants under 6 months. Reduce dose by 50% in moderate renal or hepatic impairment. Avoid in severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min).

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or piperazine derivatives
• Severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min)

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Limited human data; use only if clearly needed
• Excreted in breast milk; avoid during lactation

Special Precautions

• Renal/hepatic impairment: Dose reduction required
• May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery
• Use caution with alcohol or CNS depressants
• Epilepsy or urinary retention risk: Monitor closely
