Indications / Uses

Cetirigen Cetirizine Syrup for Kids is used for relieving symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy/watery eyes. It effectively manages chronic urticaria and other allergic skin conditions. This antihistamine formulation also helps control itching associated with insect bites and allergic dermatitis in children.

Side Effects

Cetirigen Cetirizine Syrup for Kids common side effects include: mild drowsiness, fatigue, or dry mouth in some patients. Less frequently reported reactions include headache, abdominal discomfort, or throat irritation. Discontinue use if experiencing severe reactions like hypersensitivity manifestations.

Directions and Dosage

• Children 6-12 years: 5mL (5mg) once daily. Maximum daily dose: 10mL.
• Children 2-6 years: 2.5mL (2.5mg) once daily. May increase to 2.5mL twice daily if needed.
• Children 1-2 years: 2.5mL (2.5mg) once daily.

Not recommended for infants under 1 year. Maximum treatment duration: Continuous use under medical supervision for chronic conditions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any piperazine derivatives. Severe renal impairment requiring dialysis.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Generally not recommended during pregnancy. Excreted in breast milk - avoid use while nursing.

• Monitor for sedation when operating machinery

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May enhance sedative effects when combined with CNS depressants. Avoid concurrent use with theophylline. No significant interactions with food observed.
