Indications / Uses

ARIZT Cetirizine 10mg is used for the relief and treatment of symptoms associated with various allergic conditions, including both seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. It effectively alleviates bothersome symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and an itchy nose or throat. Additionally, this medication provides symptomatic relief for the uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), reducing the occurrence, severity, and duration of hives and significantly lessening itchiness.

Side Effects

ARIZT Cetirizine 10mg common side effects include headache, dizziness, dry mouth, and some drowsiness, though it is considered a non-sedating antihistamine compared to older types. Other occasional undesirable effects may involve fatigue, pharyngitis, and gastrointestinal discomfort. The potential for drowsiness is dose-related, so taking a lower dose may minimize this effect. Should symptoms of overdosage like excessive sleepiness, restlessness, or irritability occur, seek immediate professional assistance.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults and Kids (12 years and over): 10 mg (1 tablet) once a day.
• Dosage for Kids 6–11 years: 5 mg to 10 mg once a day. The dose may be split into 5 mg twice daily.

Do not exceed 10 mg in a 24-hour period. Dosage reduction to half the usual daily dose may be necessary for individuals with moderate or severe kidney impairment. Not recommended for infants younger than 6 months.

Contraindications

Do not use this product if there is a known sensitivity to the active ingredient, to any other component of the formulation, or to a related first-generation antihistamine. It is also not suitable for individuals with severe kidney insufficiency.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

This product should not be used by individuals who are currently breastfeeding.

Special Precautions

• Although rare, drowsiness can occur and may affect the ability to perform skilled tasks; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.
• Caution is necessary for individuals with kidney or liver impairment, as dosage adjustment may be needed.
• Use with care in individuals who have epilepsy or are at risk of seizures, as there have been occasional reports of seizures associated with the use of similar products.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Combining this product with alcohol, sedatives, tranquilizers, or certain medications for anxiety or sleep disorders may increase drowsiness and affect alertness. Concomitant use with a specific asthma and lung medication may slow down the body's elimination of this product, especially at high doses of the other medicine.

How should I store it?

Store the tablets in a dry area at a temperature that does not exceed 30°C. Protect the product from light and keep it safely out of the sight and reach of children.
