COMBANTRIN Pyrantel Embonate 125mg is used for the treatment of infections caused by various gastrointestinal parasites, including threadworms (pinworms), roundworms, and hookworms. It is effective in treating single or mixed infections of these parasites.

Side Effects

COMBANTRIN Pyrantel Embonate 125mg common side effects include: gastrointestinal disturbances like stomach ache, cramps, and nausea. It may also lead to a decrease in appetite, and in some cases, diarrhea or vomiting may occur. These effects are usually mild and temporary.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults and Adolescents (15 years or older): 4 tablets (500mg) as a single dose.
• Dosage for Kids 10-14 years old: 3 tablets (375mg) as a single dose.
• Dosage for Kids 5-9 years old: 2 tablets (250mg) as a single dose.
• Dosage for Kids under 5 years old: 1 tablet (125mg) as a single dose.

Not recommended for children under 2 without consultation. The maximum treatment duration is typically a single dose, which may be repeated after 14 days if needed to prevent re-infection. The maximum daily dosage should not be exceeded.

Contraindications

This product should not be used if you have a known hypersensitivity to its active ingredient. It is also contraindicated in individuals with acute liver disease and during menstruation.
