ImmunoMax 10 mg/5 mL Syrup: 2 - 5 years old: ½ to 1 teaspoon (2.5 mL - 5 mL) daily.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to β-glucans. Pregnancy & lactation.

Action
Beta Glucans (β-Glucans) are natural polysaccharides comprised of glucose polymers, produced by variety of plants such as oats, barley and seaweed. β-Glucans are constituents of the cell wall of baker's yeast, certain types of fungi and many kinds of mushrooms.
Among the sources of β-Glucans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's yeast) has been studied extensively for its strong biological response modifier (BRM) properties, principally for its immunomodulatory potential. However, the low solubility of yeast-derived β-Glucan makes it difficult to be absorbed from the digestive tract.
The process of carboxymethylation transform β-Glucan to CM-Glucan (carboxymethyl-glucan or carboxymethylated Beta (1,3-glucan) into a highly soluble glucan that can be readily absorbed by the body. As a result, CM-Glucan triggers and enhances phagocytosis that sets off the entire immune system cascade.
