Indications/Uses
For the prevention and treatment of anemias due to folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies, also from nutritional deficiency of vitamin B complex.
Dosage/Direction for Use
To be taken orally.
Usual Dose: 1-2 capsules daily.
Severe Anemia: 1 capsule, 3 times a day.
Prophylactic (e.g., Pregnant Woman): 15-30 mg/day or 1 capsule once a day.
Therapeutic (e.g., Post-operative blood loss): 200 mg of iron per day, given in 3 equal doses of 65 mg (Or 1 capsule, 3 times a day).
Or as prescribed by the physician.
Missed Dose: If the patient is taking this product on a prescribed schedule and missed a dose, take it as soon as the patient remembers. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume the usual dosing schedule. Do not double dose to catch up.

Overdosage
Symptoms of overdose may include: Stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at the same time each day. Avoid antacids, dairy products, tea or coffee w/in 2 hr before & after taking. Do not lie down for 10 min after taking.

If the patient is allergic to any ingredients of the product.
Special Precautions
Before taking this medicine, tell the doctor about the patient's medical history, especially of use/abuse of alcohol, liver problems, stomach/intestinal problems. Tell the doctor if the patient is pregnant before using.

Adverse Reactions
Heartburn, nausea and vomiting, constipation and diarrhea. The latter symptoms are dose related and maybe due to iron-induced in the intestinal bacterial flora.
Drug Interactions
Avoid taking antacids, dairy products, tea or coffee within 2 hours before and after this medication because they will decrease its effectiveness.
Caution For Usage
Do not lie down for 10 minutes after taking this medication. Take this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. To help the patient remember, take it at the same time each day.
Storage
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C. Store away from light and moisture.
Action
Ferrous sulfate is used as a source of iron for iron-deficiency anaemia. Folic acid is a member of the Vitamin B group. It is used in the treatment and prevention of the folate deficiency state. Thiamine is a water-soluble vitamin used in the treatment and prevention of thiamine deficiency. Riboflavin is a water-soluble vitamin and it is essential for the utilisation of energy from food. Pyridoxine is a water-soluble vitamin used in the treatment and prevention of pyridoxine deficiency states. Vitamin B12, a water-soluble vitamin used in the treatment and prevention of Vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin C, a water-soluble vitamin, is essential for the synthesis of collagen and intercellular material. It has been used to acidify urine. Nicotinamide is a water-soluble Vitamin B substance used in the treatment and prevention of nicotinic acid deficiency. It is preferred as it does not cause vasodilation.
