Side Effects
SANGOBION FORTE common side effects include: gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation. A very common and harmless occurrence is the darkening or blackening of stools due to the iron content. In some cases, mild allergic reactions like skin rashes, itching, or hives may occur.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 1 capsule daily. Should be taken on an empty stomach for maximum absorption.
- Adolescents (12–18 years): 1 capsule daily. Do not exceed 1 capsule in 24 hours.
Not recommended for children under 12 years old. Maximum treatment duration: should not be used for more than 3 months without professional supervision due to high iron content.
Contraindications
Avoid use if there is a known hypersensitivity to any component. It is contraindicated in cases of iron overload (hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis), active peptic ulcer, regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or malignant cancer. Not for use in patients receiving repeated blood transfusions.
Special Precautions
- High folic acid levels can mask symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Absorption is reduced when taken with antacids, calcium supplements, milk, tea, coffee, or whole grains. It may decrease the effectiveness of certain antibiotics like tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones. Maintain a 2-hour gap between these products.
