Indications / Uses

HEMAFER-F Iron + Folic Acid is used for the prevention and treatment of conditions resulting from a deficiency of iron and folic acid. It helps ensure the body has sufficient elemental iron and folate, which are essential nutrients for the proper formation of red blood cells. This supplement is especially useful during periods of increased nutritional demand.

Side Effects

HEMAFER-F Iron + Folic Acid common side effects include: gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, stomach upset, nausea, and vomiting. A change in the color of stools to a darker shade is also commonly observed. Rarely, individuals may experience allergic reactions, including a skin rash, itching, or redness. The occurrence of serious adverse effects is uncommon.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet daily. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours.

Due to the high strength of iron, this product is not recommended for children under 18 years.

Maximum treatment duration: Use as a supplement for periods of increased need or as required.

Contraindications

Avoid use if there is a known hypersensitivity to any of the components. The product should not be taken by individuals who have a condition involving an excess of iron in the body, such as hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis. It is also not suitable for people with certain types of anemia, including pernicious anemia or hemolytic anemia.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

The absorption of this product can be decreased when taken concurrently with certain foods and beverages, including dairy products, coffee, and tea. It can also decrease the absorption and effectiveness of several other drugs, such as certain antibiotics, thyroid medications, and drugs used to treat bone density loss. Specific drugs used to control seizures may also be affected by the folate component.

How should I store it?

Store the tablets at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. It is essential to store the container securely to prevent access by children.
