TYPHECLOR Chloramphenicol 125mg / 5mL Suspension is used for treating serious infections caused by susceptible bacteria, particularly when other appropriate antimicrobial agents are ineffective. Its use is generally reserved for severe infections like typhoid fever and other types of salmonellosis, bacterial meningitis, and rickettsial infections. This medication acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which prevents the growth and replication of the bacteria. It should never be given for minor infections such as colds, flu, or simple sore throats.
