Side Effects
VENTOMAX Salbutamol 2mg / 5ml common side effects include: fine tremors of skeletal muscle (particularly the hands), palpitations, and muscle cramps. Some users may experience tachycardia, headaches, or feelings of nervousness and tension. Rare cases of peripheral vasodilation and hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema or urticaria have been reported. Most effects are dose-related and typical of sympathomimetic agents.
Directions and Dosage
- Dosage for Adults: 5ml to 10ml (2 to 4 mg) taken 3 or 4 times daily. Do not exceed 40ml in 24 hours.
- Dosage for Kids 6–12 years: 5ml (2 mg) taken 3 or 4 times daily. Do not exceed 20ml in 24 hours.
- Dosage for Kids 2–6 years: 2.5ml to 5ml (1 to 2 mg) taken 3 or 4 times daily.
Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum treatment duration: 7 days unless otherwise directed. Dosage adjustments may be needed for elderly patients sensitive to stimulants.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Management of threatened abortion or premature labor. History of severe cardiac disease or certain heart rhythm disorders.
Special Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease, or hypertension.
- Monitor blood glucose levels in diabetic patients as hyperglycemia may occur.
- Potential for hypokalemia; serum potassium levels should be monitored in severe asthma cases.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Avoid use with non-selective beta-blocking drugs. Increased risk of side effects if taken with other sympathomimetic agents or certain antidepressants. Diuretics may increase the risk of potassium depletion.
