Indications / Uses

VENTOLIN 2mg Tablet is used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by relaxing airway muscles to improve breathing during acute attacks or preventive management. The tablet formulation provides systemic relief for patients who require oral bronchodilator therapy.

Formulation / Ingredients
VENTOLIN 2mg Tablet contains: Salbutamol (as sulfate) 2mg + Microcrystalline Cellulose + Lactose Monohydrate + Magnesium Stearate + Film Coating Agents.

Side Effects

VENTOLIN 2mg Tablet common side effects include: fine tremors (especially in hands), headache, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), and muscle cramps. Less frequently, nervousness, dizziness, or throat irritation may occur. These effects are typically dose-dependent and subside with continued use.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 2-4mg 3-4 times daily as needed. Maximum: 16mg in 24 hours.
• Children (6-11 years): 1-2mg 3-4 times daily. Maximum: 8mg in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 6 years. Use lowest effective dose. Duration depends on symptom control.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to sympathomimetics. Severe cardiac arrhythmias or tachycardia. Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Special Precautions

• Use cautiously in cardiovascular disease or hyperthyroidism
• Monitor for worsening bronchospasm or paradoxical airway resistance
• Caution in diabetes due to potential hyperglycemia

Avoid with non-selective beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol). Use cautiously with diuretics or other sympathomimetics. Always disclose current medications.
