VENTOLIN NEBULE is used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It provides rapid bronchodilation during acute asthma attacks or reversible airway obstruction. This nebulizer solution is suitable for patients requiring inhaled bronchodilator therapy via nebulization devices.

Side Effects

VENTOLIN NEBULE common side effects include: fine tremors (especially in hands), headache, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), and muscle cramps. Less frequently, nervousness, dizziness, or throat irritation may occur. These effects are typically dose-dependent and subside with continued use.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 2.5-5mg (2.5-5mL) via nebulizer every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum: 40mg daily.
  • Children (4-11 years): 2.5mg (2.5mL) via nebulizer every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum: 10mg daily.
  • Infants and Children (under 4 years): 1.25-2.5mg (1.25-2.5mL) via nebulizer every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum: 5mg daily.

Use lowest effective dose. Duration depends on symptom control. Do not exceed maximum daily dosage.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to sympathomimetics. Severe cardiac arrhythmias or tachycardia. Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Special Precautions

  • Monitor for paradoxical bronchospasm - discontinue immediately if occurs
  • Use cautiously in cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes
  • Avoid excessive use (risk of tolerance)

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Avoid with non-selective beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol). Use cautiously with other sympathomimetics, diuretics, or xanthine derivatives. Always disclose current medications.

How should I store it?

Store below 30°C in original packaging. Protect from light. Use opened vials immediately. Discard unused solution after 24 hours.
