Indications/Uses
Salbutamol sulfate + Bromhexine hydrochloride + Guaifenesin (SALBUX PLUS SYRUP) are drugs which have been proposed to be useful in loosening and liquefying mucous in soothing irritated bronchial mucosa and in making coughs more productive.
Salbutamol sulfate + Bromhexine hydrochloride + Guaifenesin (SALBUX PLUS SYRUP) is recommended for clinical relief of cough associated with bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema and other bronchopulmonary disorders where bronchospasm, mucus plugging and problems of expectoration co-exist.

Overdosage
Manifestations of overdosage include anginal pain, hypertension, and exaggeration of the pharmacological effects. The preferred antidote for overdosage with Salbutamol is a cardioselective beta-blocking agent, but beta-blocking drugs should be used with caution in patients with a history of bronchospasm. Besides symptomatic therapy and supportive measures, gastric lavage and charcoal administration is required.
Contraindications
In patients with pre-existing cardiac tachyarrhythmias and in patients with known hypersensitivity to either Bromhexine or Salbutamol and in patients with thyrotoxicosis.
Special Precautions
Salbutamol sulfate + Bromhexine hydrochloride + Guaifenesin (SALBUX PLUS SYRUP) should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, serious cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, hyperthyroidism and peptic ulcer. Since mucolytics may disrupt the gastric mucosal barrier, bromhexine should be used with care in patients with a history of peptic ulceration. These are generally mild and very rare. However in isolated cases, fine finger tremors, palpitations and gastrointestinal disturbances may be noticed on treatment with Salbutamol sulfate + Bromhexine hydrochloride + Guaifenesin (SALBUX PLUS SYRUP).

Adverse Reactions
Adverse metabolic effects of high doses of salbutamol may be exacerbated by concomitant administration of high doses of corticosteroids. Very large doses cause nausea and vomiting.
BROMHEXINE: Risk of allergic reactions; severe skin reactions (SCARs): erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
SALBUTAMOL: Immune System Disorders: very rare: Hypersensitivity reactions including angioedema, urticaria, bronchospasm, hypotension, collapse.
Metabolism and Nutrition Disorders: rare: Hypokalemia.
Potentially serious hypokalemia may result from beta agonist therapy.
Nervous System Disorders: very common: tremors. common: headache. very rare: hyperactivity.
Cardiac Disorders: common: tachycardia, palpitations. rare: cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia and extrasystoles. unknown: myocardial ischemia.
Vascular Disorders: rare: peripheral vasodilatation.
Musculoskeletal and Connective Tissue Disorders: common: muscle cramps. very rare: feeling of muscle tension.
GUAIFENESIN: Gastrointestinal Disorders: nausea and vomiting.
