This rescue medication helps alleviate wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath within minutes of administration.

Side Effects

SALBUDEN Salbutamol Nebule common side effects include: tremors, headaches, tachycardia, and muscle cramps. Less frequently, throat irritation or dry mouth may occur. Serious reactions include paradoxical bronchospasm and cardiovascular effects like palpitations or chest pain requiring immediate discontinuation.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 1 nebule (2.5mL) every 4-6 hours via nebulizer. Maximum daily dose: 4 nebules (10mg).
  • Children (4-11 years): ½-1 nebule (1.25-2.5mL) every 4-6 hours via nebulizer. Maximum daily dose: 3 nebules (7.5mg).

Not recommended for children under 4 years. Maximum treatment duration: Regular use requires medical evaluation if exceeding 3 days weekly.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to components. Tachyarrhythmias or severe cardiac disorders. Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use only if potential benefit justifies fetal risk. Excreted in breast milk - monitor infants for cardiovascular effects.

Special Precautions

  • Monitor closely in cardiovascular disease or diabetes
  • Risk of hypokalemia with high doses
  • Discontinue immediately if paradoxical bronchospasm occurs
