Side Effects
RELAXSAPH Ipratropium / Salbutamol 500mcg / 2.5mg common side effects include: headache, dizziness, nervousness, and fine skeletal muscle tremors. Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 1 nebule every 6 to 8 hours via nebulizer.
- Adolescents (12–17 years): 1 nebule every 6 to 8 hours.
- Kids 2–12 years: 1 nebule every 8 to 12 hours.
Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum daily dosage: 4 nebules in 24 hours. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the obstruction and clinical response.
Contraindications
Avoid use if there is a known hypersensitivity to atropine or its derivatives. It is also contraindicated for patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy or certain rapid heart rhythm disorders (tachyarrhythmia).
Special Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with predisposed narrow-angle glaucoma or urinary retention.
- Monitor closely if you have underlying cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes mellitus.
- Potential for paradoxical bronchospasm should be monitored immediately after inhalation.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Beta-blockers may decrease the effectiveness of this medication. Increased risk of potassium loss when used with diuretics or steroids. Caution is advised when combined with other bronchodilators or antidepressants.
How should I store it?
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C and protect from light. Use the solution immediately once the nebule is opened and discard any remaining portion.
