Prox-S Salbutamol Syrup is used for treating and preventing bronchospasm in asthma, chronic bronchitis, and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. It provides relief from wheezing and shortness of breath by relaxing airway muscles. This medication is also indicated for managing exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in reversible airway obstruction cases.

Side Effects
Prox-S Salbutamol Syrup common side effects include: Fine tremors (especially in hands), nervous tension, headache, and palpitations. Tachycardia, muscle cramps, and hypersensitivity reactions may occur less frequently. These effects are generally dose-related and may diminish with continued use.
Directions and Dosage
- Children 2-6 years: 2.5 mL 3-4 times daily. Maximum: 10 mL in 24 hours.
- Children 6-12 years: 5 mL 3-4 times daily. Maximum: 20 mL in 24 hours.
- Adults and adolescents 12+ years: 5-10 mL 3-4 times daily. Maximum: 40 mL in 24 hours.
Use provided measuring cup for accurate dosing. Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum treatment duration: Continuous use as directed by healthcare provider.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component. Tachyarrhythmias, severe tachycardias, and hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. Avoid use with uncontrolled hyperthyroidism.
Special Precautions
- Use cautiously in cardiovascular disorders including hypertension
- Monitor diabetic patients for possible hyperglycemia
- Risk of hypokalemia with high doses
- Caution in thyrotoxicosis and convulsive disorders
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Concomitant use with other beta-adrenergics may increase adverse effects. Beta-blockers may reduce bronchodilating effects. Hypokalemia may be enhanced with xanthine derivatives or diuretics.
How should I store it?
Store below 30°C in original container. Keep tightly closed and protect from light. Discard 1 month after opening. Do not freeze.
