Indications / Uses

PROVEXEL NS Salbutamol Nebule is used for treating and preventing bronchospasm in asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. It provides rapid relief of acute breathing difficulties by relaxing airway muscles. This medication is also indicated for managing exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in reversible airway obstruction cases.

Side Effects

PROVEXEL NS Salbutamol Nebule common side effects include: Fine tremors (especially in hands), nervous tension, headache, muscle cramps and palpitations. Tachycardia, arrhythmias, peripheral vasodilation and occasional hypotension may occur. Hypersensitivity reactions including paradoxical bronchospasm are rare but possible.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and children 12+ years: 2.5 mL (1 nebule) per dose. Repeat every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum: 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Children 4-11 years: 2.5 mL (1 nebule) per dose. Maximum: 4 doses in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 4 years. Use nebulizer with mouthpiece or face mask. Treatment duration should be limited to acute symptom relief unless medically supervised.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component. Tachyarrhythmias, severe tachycardias, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism.

Special Precautions

• Use cautiously in cardiovascular disorders including hypertension
• Monitor diabetic patients for possible hyperglycemia
• Risk of hypokalemia with high doses
• Caution in thyrotoxicosis and convulsive disorders

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Concomitant use with other beta-adrenergics may increase adverse effects. Beta-blockers may antagonize bronchodilating effects. Hypokalemia may be enhanced with xanthines, steroids or diuretics.

How should I store it?

Store below 30°C in original packaging. Protect from light and moisture. Keep nebules sealed until use. Discard unused solution immediately after opening.
