Side Effects
OPPUL Salbutamol Nebule common side effects include: tremors, nervousness, headache, and mild muscle cramps. Less frequently, it may cause tachycardia, palpitations, or paradoxical bronchospasm. Hypersensitivity reactions like rash or throat swelling are rare but require immediate discontinuation.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 1 nebule (2.5mg) every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum: 4 nebs (10mg) in 24 hours.
- Children (4-11 years): ½ nebule (1.25mg) every 4-6 hours. Maximum: 4 doses (5mg) in 24 hours.
Not recommended for children under 4 years. Maximum continuous use: Monitor regularly beyond 1 week of frequent usage.
Contraindications
Avoid with known hypersensitivity to salbutamol or similar bronchodilators. Contraindicated in tachyarrhythmias, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and uncontrolled hyperthyroidism. Not recommended during acute cardiac episodes.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Generally considered safe during pregnancy when clinically needed. Small amounts may pass into breast milk - monitor infants for potential side effects.
