Multivent Salbutamol / Ipratropium Nebule is used for managing bronchoconstriction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It provides relief from reversible airway obstruction and improves breathing function in respiratory conditions. This combination helps reduce symptoms like wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness in obstructive airway diseases.

Side Effects

Multivent Salbutamol / Ipratropium Nebule common side effects include: dry mouth, headache, and mild tremors. Some users may experience palpitations, throat irritation, or coughing after administration. Less frequently reported reactions include nausea, dizziness, or blurred vision.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and adolescents (12+ years): 1 nebule (2.5mL) via nebulizer every 6-8 hours. Maximum: 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Children (6-11 years): 1 nebule (2.5mL) every 6-8 hours. Maximum: 3 doses in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 6 years. Maximum treatment duration: Continuous use only under medical supervision.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to atropine derivatives or sympathomimetics. Avoid in tachyarrhythmias, severe cardiac disease, or hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. Contraindicated in untreated angle-closure glaucoma and bladder neck obstruction.

Special Precautions

• Use cautiously in cardiovascular disorders like hypertension or angina
• Monitor for paradoxical bronchospasm or worsening symptoms
• Avoid contact with eyes to prevent pupil dilation or glaucoma

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May interact with other bronchodilators or beta-blockers. Concurrent use with xanthine derivatives may increase cardiovascular effects. Avoid with anticholinergic medications due to additive effects.

How should I store it?

Store between 15-30°C. Protect from light. Keep nebules sealed until use. Discard if solution becomes discolored.
