Indications / Uses

BUTAMOL Salbutamol 4mg is used for relieving bronchospasm in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other reversible airway obstructions. It helps manage acute breathing difficulties by relaxing airway muscles to improve airflow. This medication also assists in preventing exercise-induced bronchospasms when taken before physical activity.

Side Effects

BUTAMOL Salbutamol 4mg common side effects include:

• Muscle tremors, headaches, or nervousness
• Rapid heartbeat, palpitations, or chest discomfort
• Throat irritation, nausea, or dizziness

Rarely, hypokalemia or paradoxical bronchospasm may occur. Most effects are dose-related and temporary.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 1 tablet 3-4 times daily. Maximum: 4 tablets (16mg) in 24 hours
• Children 4–11 years: ½ tablet (2mg) 3-4 times daily. Maximum: 2 tablets (8mg) in 24 hours

Not for children under 4 years. Maximum treatment duration: Continuous use requires medical supervision.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to salbutamol or related compounds
• Severe cardiac disorders or tachyarrhythmias
• Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Evaluate benefits versus potential fetal risks before use
• Excreted in breast milk—monitor infants for adverse effects
