Indications / Uses

AMBROFLAM Ambroxol 30mg is used for treating respiratory conditions involving excessive or thick mucus production. It helps clear airways by thinning bronchial secretions and improving expectoration. This medication is indicated for acute and chronic bronchopulmonary disorders like bronchitis, asthma, and COPD where mucus clearance is clinically important.

Side Effects

AMBROFLAM Ambroxol 30mg common side effects include: gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain. Less frequently, patients may experience taste disturbances, dry mouth, or allergic skin reactions like rash or itching. Discontinue use if severe reactions like breathing difficulties occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and adolescents (12+ years): 1 tablet (30mg) three times daily. Do not exceed 90mg in 24 hours.
• Children 6–12 years: ½ tablet (15mg) twice daily. Do not exceed 30mg in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 6 years. Maximum treatment duration: 5 days unless directed otherwise.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or any component. Severe hepatic impairment or active peptic ulcer disease.

Special Precautions

• Use cautiously in patients with renal impairment or history of gastric disorders.
• Monitor for signs of allergic reactions during initial use.
• Discontinue if severe gastrointestinal symptoms develop.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Avoid concurrent use with antitussives (cough suppressants) as they may reduce expectoration effectiveness. May enhance penetration of antibiotics like amoxicillin into bronchial secretions.

How should I store it?

Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep the blister in the outer carton to protect from light and moisture. Do not use after expiration date.
