ACTEINSAPH Acetylcysteine 200mg is used for thinning mucus in respiratory conditions such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and cystic fibrosis. It also serves as an antidote for acetaminophen overdose by preventing liver damage. This medication helps manage excessive phlegm production and supports airway clearance.

Side Effects

ACTEINSAPH Acetylcysteine 200mg common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach discomfort. Rare but serious reactions may include allergic responses such as skin rash, bronchospasm, or swelling of the face and throat. Discontinue use immediately if severe reactions occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): 200–400 mg every 8–12 hours. Maximum daily dose: 2,400 mg.
• Adolescents (12–17 years): 200 mg 3–4 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 800 mg.
• Children (2–11 years): 100–200 mg 3–4 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 600 mg.

Not recommended for children under 2 without medical supervision. Treatment duration should not exceed 10 days unless advised otherwise.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine or related compounds. Avoid in patients with severe asthma or a history of bronchospasm triggered by mucolytic agents.
