Indications/Uses
Total or partial parenteral nutrition or for substitution of amino acid losses during the various dialysis (eg, peritoneal) or hemofiltration procedures in acute or chronic renal insufficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Maximum: 1.5 g amino acids/kg body weight/day.
Nephrosteril is administered by IV route. If not otherwise prescribed, up to 0.5 g amino acids/kg body weight/day, 500 mL/day for 70 kg body weight in acute or chronic renal insufficiency not treated by dialysis. Up to 1 g amino acids/kg body weight/day, 1000 mL/day for 70 kg body weight in acute or chronic renal insufficiency treated by hemodialysis.
Duration of Application: In case of acute renal insufficiency, the duration of use should be a few days to a maximum of 2 weeks.
In chronic renal insufficiency not treated by hemodialysis, Nephrosteril can be used until a sufficient oral administration of protein is possible again.

Contraindications
Disturbances in amino acid metabolism, liver failure, cardiac insufficiency, hyperhydration, hypokalemia, hyponatremia.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, chills & vomiting (infusion rate is too rapid).
