Indications/Uses
Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia to relieve symptoms of urinary obstruction.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 cap daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after breakfast or 1st meal of the day in an upright position. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. History of orthostatic hypotension; severe hepatic insufficiency. History of tamsulosin-induced angioedema.
Special Precautions
Hypotension & syncope. Perform digital rectal exam & determination of prostate specific antigen (PSA) before treatment & at regular intervals. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min). Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) during cataract surgery. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, abnormal ejaculation; headache, asthenia, postural hypotension & palpitations.
Drug Interactions
Increased plasma levels w/ cimetidine. Decreased plasma levels w/ furosemide. Increased elimination rate w/ diclofenac & warfarin. Enhanced hypotensive effects w/ other α-adrenoceptor antagonists.
