Contraindications
Do not use this product if there is a known history of hypersensitivity to the substance it contains. It must also be avoided in individuals with a history of acute porphyria, as administration may precipitate an attack.
Special Precautions
- Before starting therapy, especially when a stomach ulcer is present, the possibility of a serious malignancy should be ruled out, as symptomatic relief might mask the presence of cancer.
- Use with caution in individuals with pre-existing kidney or liver impairment, as reduced function in these organs may lead to accumulation and higher concentration of the drug in the body.
- Prolonged consumption may potentially interfere with the absorption of essential nutrients, specifically leading to vitamin B12 deficiency.
- Usage in pediatric patients has been associated with an increased risk for developing acute gastroenteritis and community-acquired pneumonia.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
The absorption of this product can be affected by certain other medications; for example, antacids may decrease its absorption. Since this product reduces stomach acidity, it can change how well other drugs are absorbed, specifically those needing stomach acid to be properly absorbed (e.g., certain antifungals, atazanavir). Use with caution with drugs like warfarin as it may increase the risk of bleeding.
How should I store it?
The tablets should be stored at temperatures not exceeding 30ºC. Keep the product in its original packaging to protect it from moisture and light.
