Indications/Uses
As an antiemetic for the short-term treatment of nausea & vomiting associated w/ levodopa/bromocriptine therapy for Parkinsonism. Also used for its prokinetic actions in dyspepsia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
10-20 mg 4-8 hrly. Childn 200-400 mcg/kg 4-8 hrly.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15-30 min before meals.
Contraindications
When stimulation of muscular contractions might adversely affect GI hemorrhage, obstruction, perforation or post-op.
Adverse Reactions
Dystonic reactions, galactorrhea/gynecomastia, extrapyramidal symptoms.
