Side Effects
MYCLOSIL Metoclopramide 10mg common side effects include: drowsiness, restlessness, fatigue, and diarrhea. Less frequently, it may cause movement disorders such as muscle spasms or tremors. Serious neurological effects like tardive dyskinesia have been reported with prolonged use.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet (10mg) taken 30 minutes before meals. Maximum: 3 tablets (30mg) in 24 hours.
- Adolescents (15-17 years): ½-1 tablet (5-10mg) up to 3 times daily. Maximum: 3 tablets (30mg) in 24 hours.
- Children (1-14 years): 0.1mg/kg per dose. Maximum single dose: 10mg. Maximum daily: 0.5mg/kg (not exceeding 30mg).
Not recommended for infants under 1 year. Treatment duration should not exceed 12 weeks unless medically supervised.
Contraindications
Avoid if gastrointestinal obstruction, hemorrhage, or perforation exists. Contraindicated in pheochromocytoma, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease. Do not use with drugs causing extrapyramidal reactions.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Excreted in breast milk—avoid during lactation.
Special Precautions
- Monitor for neurological symptoms, especially in children and young adults.
- Use cautiously in patients with depression, hypertension, or renal impairment.
- Avoid alcohol due to additive sedation effects.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
May interact with CNS depressants, increasing sedation risk. Avoid concurrent use with antipsychotics or serotonergic drugs due to serotonin syndrome potential.
