Indications/Uses

Tobramycin-dexamethasone is prescribed to treat bacterial eye infections.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Use tobramycin-dexamethasone exactly as instructed by your doctor for it to be effective.

  • Use tobramycin-dexamethasone in the eyes only.
  • Wash and dry your hands before and after applying this medicine.
  • To apply, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye, look up and drop or apply the prescribed dose into the inside of the pulled eyelid, taking care not to touch the eye with the tip of the bottle or tube.
  • If you use the drops form, close your eye after application and apply light pressure with your finger to the inside corner of your eye near your nose for about 1 minute to prevent the medicine from draining out.
  • If you use the ointment form, close your eye after application and roll your eyeball around for 1-2 minutes to allow the medicine to spread around the inside of your eye.
  • Do not use more amounts or more often or use for a longer period than prescribed by your doctor. Prolonged use can lead to a new infection or cause an increase in the pressure in the eyes.
  • Do not touch or wash the dropper or tip of the tube or let it touch your eyes or any other surface.
  • Remove contact lenses before using this medicine and do not reinsert unless instructed by your doctor.
  • Do not use any other eye medications during treatment with this medicine unless advised by your doctor.
  • It is important that the full course of application is completed within the duration specified by your doctor, even if symptoms disappear.
  • If you forget to use this medicine on schedule, use it immediately as you remember. However, if it is already time for the next dose, just proceed with your next regular dose schedule.
