TOBRAZIN Tobramycin Eye Drops are used for the treatment of external eye infections caused by susceptible bacteria. This medication is effective against bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and keratitis. It is also used for the management of ocular infections and for the prevention of infection following eye surgery or injury.

Side Effects

TOBRAZIN Tobramycin Eye Drops common side effects include: temporary eye stinging or burning upon application, redness, itching, and blurred vision. Some patients may experience eyelid itching or swelling. If severe irritation or signs of an allergic reaction occur, discontinue use immediately.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults (18+ years) and Adolescents: Instill 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4 hours. For severe infections, 2 drops every hour until improvement, then reduce frequency.
  • Children and Infants: Dosage should be determined by a healthcare provider based on weight and severity of infection.

Treatment duration is typically 7 to 10 days. Do not use for longer than prescribed. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to tobramycin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any component of the formulation. Viral infections of the eye, such as dendritic keratitis. Fungal eye infections.

Special Precautions

  • Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
  • Contact lenses should not be worn during the treatment of an eye infection.
  • Monitor for signs of superinfection with non-susceptible organisms.

Inform your healthcare provider about all other eye medications you are using. Concurrent use with other topical ophthalmic products may increase the risk of irritation.

How should I store it?

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed. Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy.
