Indications/Uses
Diabetic microangiopathy for the management of diabetic retinopathy, consolidating the therapy with laser photocoagulation and glomerulosclerosis (Kimmelstiel-Wilson syndrome). Other vascular disorders for chronic venous insufficiency, hemorrhoids.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Diabetic Microangiopathy: Because of chronic nature of the illness, it is preferable to determine the dosage for each case individually. Initial Treatment: 1.5-2 g/day according to the severity of the case. Maintenance Treatment: 1 g/day.
Other Vascular Disorders: 0.5-1 g/day according to the severity of the case.

Administration
Should be taken with food: Take during or immediately after main meals to reduce GI discomfort.

Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances; nausea, diarrhea, skin rash, fever, joint & muscle pain, headache.
Storage
Store at temperatures between 20-25°C.
Action
Doxium corrects hyperpermeability and fragility, counteracts the effects of vasoactive substances which tend to increase permeability (histamine, serotonin, bradykinin, hyaluronidase, prostaglandins, PAF) and prevents alteration of collagen.
Doxium reduces blood hyperviscosity, erythrocyte rigidity, platelet hyperaggregability and the tendency to thrombosis. Doxium also improves the lymphatic drainage.
