It is effective for treating conditions such as bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye), blepharitis, and keratitis, helping to eliminate the infection and alleviate symptoms like redness, swelling, and discharge.

Side Effects
CONSAC Tobramycin Eye Drops common side effects include: temporary eye irritation, burning, or stinging upon application, itching, redness, and watery eyes. Less commonly, eyelid itching, swelling, or a foreign body sensation may occur. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if severe reactions like a skin rash appear.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults and Adolescents: Instill 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4 to 6 hours. For severe infections, a dosage of 2 drops every 2 to 4 hours may be used initially.
- Children and Infants (under 12 years): The dosage is determined by a physician based on weight and severity of infection. Typically, 1 drop is instilled into the affected eye(s) every 4 to 6 hours.
Do not exceed the prescribed dosage. Treatment should generally continue for at least 7 days. Not recommended for use in infants without medical supervision.
Contraindications
Do not use if you have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to tobramycin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
Special Precautions
- Avoid allowing the dropper tip to contact any surface to prevent contamination.
- Do not wear contact lenses while experiencing a bacterial eye infection.
- Use with caution as prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Inform your healthcare provider about all other medications you are using. Concurrent use with other topical ophthalmic products may increase the risk of adverse reactions; administer at least 5 minutes apart.
How should I store it?
Store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C). Keep the bottle tightly closed and protect from light. Do not freeze. Discard the bottle 4 weeks after first opening.
